AC troubleshooting

Having issues with the air on my 98 Prizm

I bought a recharge hose and a couple cans of refrigerant (had to run south of the border to IL because WI won't sell them ). I hook up to the low pressure side and got about 25 psi. I followed the instructions to charge, but the car wouldn't take the charge. The low pressure port works because it will bleed off refrigerant when depressed. I also verified the recharge hose I got by boosting the AC in my truck with success. I ended up bleeding off too much refrigerant by messing around so now the compressor kicked out due to low pressure.

1. What could be causing my system not to take the charge?
2. I've heard you can "jump" the low pressure switch in order to get the compressor to engage. Anyone have an idea how to do this?

Dude you need to EVAC your compressor and A/C lines to make sure you get even pressure, also make sure you put in enough esther oil. Its a sealed system you cant just dump refrigerant into it.
