Need Advice

Hi there, I'm from Cape Town in South Africa and have a (gen 2) 3sgte engine in a rear wheel drive Corolla. I would like to know what is safe boost for engine. I'm currently running 1.1 bar boost with turbonetics T3/T4 and am producing 210kw. My current 1/4 mile time is 13.5 but would like to improve that to 12's without opening the engine to fit forge pistons etc. Please advise. What is the conversion rate from psi to bar?

This is my car!

Engine!

1 pound per square inch = 0.0689475729 bar

i'd say you're already running a good boost on stock internals. if i were you i'd push it to about 21psi but make sure it's properly tuned. what ECU are you using?

Thanks for the compliment rollagtracer. What does 21 psi equate to in Bars? The ecu i'm running is called Dictator - this management was developed by a local here in South Africa and seems to work quite well. I'm willing to up the boost to 1.5 bar but would like to know if the stock internals will handle this amount of boost? See specs below :

2.0L twincam 16 valve
21R Gearbox
4.3 Venture Diff
Disk Brakes all round
440cc Injectors
2 x Fuel Pumps + Surge Tank
Dictator Fuel Management
Detonation Indicator
17 inch allow wheels (Poison)
Big Intercooler
Turbonetics T3/T4
Turbonetics wastegate
Smart Dump Valve
Boost + Oil Pressure gauges ll round
440cc Injectors
2 x Fuel Pumps + Surge Tank
Dictator Fuel Management
Detonation Indicator
17 inch allow wheels (Poison)
Big Intercooler
Turbonetics T3/T4
Turbonetics wastegate
Smart Dump Valve
Boost + Oil Pressure gauges

21 x 0.0689475729 = 1.48 bar

i'm not sure how tired your stock internals are but if you're running 21 psi you'll be gambling, chances are you motor will go. 14psi is by far i'd boost it safely w/o modding the internals.

if you want more technical info, try this guys... http://www.mr2oc.com/

BTW, have you tried running a smaller diameter wheel and tire combo? that may help with some suspension tuning.
