model names

what would the model of my car be called in america? do you guys have this model? It is what we call a Corolla GT. Originally 4age redtop bigport. Now converted to 4age 20v Blacktop. Extras inclue 4 disc brakes, voltmeter and oil pressure gauge and different interior layout. Riding on 15" AE111 Levin wheels powdercoated gloss black.

I'm guessing you guys don't have too many full JDM cars floating around?

I believe in the states that would have been a Geo Prizm Gsi. Shame that Toyota doesn't think people like a sporty 4 door.

The AE92 sedan was not sold with the 4A-GE in the US, they were equiped with 4A-F and later 4A-FE engines.
The 2 door coupe called Corolla GTS had 4A-GE engine.
The coupe with the 4A-F was called the SR5. '88-'91.

I am thinking of doing a 20V swap like yours on my '92 Corolla sedan.

Did the AE92 Prizim GSI have the 4A-GE? I thought they only had the 4A-FE.

AE92

I certainly like my sporty 4 door!

believe it or not, only 20kg heavier than the hatchback.

weighed on professional motorsport scales came in at 1042kg, same weight as an AE111 levin, which is also a 2 door!!

the 20v swap is not too complicated at all and nets good power gains.

I am sort of regretting using the blacktop for my swap as now my turbocharging options are limited without replacing the weak conrods.

soon to get some trd shocks and a whiteline rear swaybar

blah... externally the only difference between your car and ours is the bumpers and the folding mirrors. the 4 wheel disks can easily be swapped and so as the 4A-GE transplant since you can just use an AE92 GT-S donor car.

the only JDM AE92 sedan look i've ever wanted is this...

The handful of Gsi Prizms that were made are a full GTS in a 4 door shell. So yes they had 4age as well as 4 wheel discs and all the suspension. As far as I know you could them in either sedan or "hatch" style. I think the hatch is basically a Seca style or something, i could be wrong bout that.
