Exclamation URGENT! My seatbelt won't come loose!

My driver's side seatbelt is stuck and I can't even put it on. The tensioner seems to be seized up or something. Even jiggling the belt around seems to move it only a little. There also seems to be an ongoing rattle developing around the area too.

Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be? How easy would it be to repair myself?

I currently cannot use my seatbelt at all and all the dealerships and local garages are closed for today, any help is much appreciated.

So is taking my car to the dealer the only option in this case?

What will I need to replace?

check your owners manual. should be a lifetime warranty on it from the dealer as long as the malfunction is not caused by an accident at least my 89 toyota corolla all-trac in the united states has the warranty

Where does it say this?

I looked over the entire manual and could not find anywhere that mentions it.

Wish you could have posted earlier because my car is currently at the dealer having the entire driver side belt replaced.

I'ts a lot cheaper to get one from the salvage yard and three bolts later, the job is done for about $15.00.

Called Toyota Canada and some dealers in my area and they all told me it was 3years or 60,000km or 5 years/100,000km. Guess it's different in Canada.
