Average cost for timing belt change?

I have a 94 corolla; 1.6 engine.

What can I expect to pay for labor and parts for the timing belt? Should any other work be done at the same time?

Rule-of-Thumb is to change the Water Pump also. Then depending on when or if it was changed out, all belts and hoses, themostat... Plan on $300+. I always use a factory timing belt. Ask your guy if you can bring him a Toyota belt, he can use his own parts for the rest...

I just had my timing belt, water pump, thermostat, and belts changed. Hoses were fine, and they flushed the coolant. This was about two weeks ago. The charge was $280 + tax. I didn't need new hoses because they had recently been replaced. That was in Texas. HTH!

Well, normally you'd want to change the timing belt at around 60K miles. So that is a good time to replace the water pump and thermostat. As for other belts and such, those are easily inspected, so I'd replace them if they need it.
