The auto transmission interlock stopped working when pressing the brake. She has to use the over-ride button with a screw driver. what should i look for to fix this. any help is greatly appreciated.

Then I inspected the break light bulbs. The contact on one of the bulbs had softened/melted until it contacted the ground connedtor.Thank you again
