Transmission help

What transmission do I use with the 4agze swap in my originally 4age '92 Corolla. I was told the C52 would hold up to a point but that there was a beefier swap that would work. I was told E53 was the code but when I search it all I get is BMW crap. What is the better transmission to use with this swap?

There isn't a better replacement to look for in the US market. The E series trannies are indeed stronger than the C series trannies, but the only E series that came to the US were for the MR2 supercharged. Unfortunately, those trannies do not work for the FF guys like us. You'll have to look for an imported one if that's truely you goal.

I say stick with the C52, it's strong enough to take some abuse and easy enough to find a replacement when your current tranny is destroyed.

There is also an C56 transmission, wich had some improvements over the C52. Don't know excatly what they were, but this transmission was also used for the 4A-GE 20V silver-and blacktops which both have higher outputs than the engines the C52 came with.

It is also an FWD tranny, maybe this is what you're looking for?
