Idle Problems - 95 Corolla
Hey guys, I got my starting problem fixed a few months ago, but I'm still having problems; now with the idle. It starts and runs fine, however, after the car has warmed up, the idle sporadically tends to drop to around 200+- RPMs and stay. The car does not completely stall, but it wants to. After a minute or so, you can tap the gas to bring the revs back up, and the idle will normal out. The car is still driveable, except for the occasional REALLY low idle. I haven't been able to figure it out, and as of late haven't had much time to look at it. It's a 95 DX (1.8L 7A-FE) w/ the auto tranny. It has around 178k miles on it. Fuel pump, alternator, plugs, wires, cap & rotor are all new. Fuel filter was replaced about 3-5k miles ago. Anyone have any ideas?
Also: I checked the IACV according to the Chilton's manual. It does NOT idle higher for a few seconds when you unplug the IACV and jump the pins in the diagnostic port. However, when you check the resistance of the pins, the readings are OK. When you jump the pins, you can hear the unit click, so it appears to be OK. The car is not throwing any codes, so no help there.
I would really appreciate any help.
