Driving the Blessed H

So a few years back one of my brothers bought a Honda CRX SiR and I took it for a spin and wasn't very impressed. It might have not been up to snuff but it had the DOHC version of the engine swapped in and had the intake and exhaust done. Though the shifter was a bit messed up and didn't work properly.

Now he went out again and bought a 1994 Civic CX for 150 and gave it to my youngest brother. This car had a huge dent in the hood and roof, wells are rotted out, has no exhaust from the headers back, the clutch is a bit off and needs $1,000 in suspension work. Regardless of these problems I took it for a drive today just to see what his civic was like as far as the condition of the engine and tranny. I have to say I was rather surprised at how quickly this car climbed in speed. I must say I think it is faster then my Corolla. The car was rather nice to drive compared to my other brothers CRX. The only thing I really didn't like about this car was cornering. Over steer out the balls. But over all not a bad car. Makes me think my other brothers CRX is really messed up if this is what the CX can do.

Um....okay? Is there a point to this thread? Your comparing a CRX to a Civic, different years, different technology, different parts, different cars. You think its faster, ok thats your opinion. But I had a Civic Si (with a higher horsepower engine) and it feels slow to me. You don't like how the Civic corners like shit? Maybe thats because it needs 1k in suspension work....

I drove a late 90's civic and it felt slower than my ae92. Think it had alot to do with the civic being an auto and the civic being heavier (4 door sedan)

Actually the CRX Si had the 108hp D16Z6 in north america, or the D15 with 90hp on the CRX EF

I'm actually driving a 93 hatch with the D15B7 right now, woohoo for 100hp and automatic! even my old 86 and 87 Civics with 5spd felt faster than this car and they had a 60hp 1.3L motor.

The CRX SiR is a 1992 ED and has a DOHC ZC motor in it so it should have 130 hp. The Civic CX is a 1994 EH with a D15 motor in it. The CRX should be faster but it's not.

And the one Civic is probably faster then my corolla right now because ether my clutch or tranny is shot and I swear the car has the wrong 4A-GE ECU in it. Its the only way I can explain the random power loss when it rains.

We dynoed it... so I'm speaking of something other than factory ratings.
