Hmmm...

It most likely has 3T-C so that would make it a TE72.

If it's got a 4A-C it's a AE86 (Probably not though cuz I don't think they were available in North America until 1984)

If it's an 83 with a 4AC its actually an AE72.. if it's a 3TC then it's a TE72. Check your motor and see if the motor says 4A or 4AC or 3TC, etc.

LOL at fistofmeat's sig

well it says 4a on the head so im guessing its an ae72...but if i put the jdm 4a-ge motor in it could i call it a 86 and be technically correct or would i just be one of those ppl that makes it into a conversion and says its that like the ppl that put the sr20det into 240s and calls them silvias

Sorry man I usually only read more then reply for something but today U called my attention. lol!
ok startting ae86 is a car made from 84 to 87 which has in the firewall saying it
"AE86-0000000" no matter what motor u install on ur car ur car is what it is U can probably call it ae72-4a but never ae86 sorry to tell u this. Take a look at the left upper side then U'll see what I mean!

And if U see someone calling a 240sx "s13" silvia tell to this person he/her that he is wrong about it 240sx is always 240sx even with sr20det in it, cause the silvia coupe has the front end complete diferent form the 240sx coupe silvia hatch has 180sx instead saying 240sx ok if u install the sr20 in your 240sx u have a s13sr not silvia unless u swap the front "coupe only" and from the lhd to hrd, lol!

I hope to be clear whit these info.

ps: by the way the ae86 and s13sr are mine and both for sale!
s13sr=$8g
ae86=$2g
