New to cars. Want more Power in my 92 Corolla.

Hey guys whats up I have a 1992 Toyota corolla. I'm not sure if it's a TE AE or w/e all I know is it is 4-doors, and very small. lol.

I think I read somehwere that a corolla has 80hp stock? Well my question is, what can I do to give it a little more horse-power. I deliver pizzas, and would like to see an extra KICK in the engine. What are some good parts to buy? How much do they cost? I'm just looking for some "cheap horsepower" as they say. I'm not trying to race or be flashy or anything, I just need to be able to get my deliveries in quicker and when I get on the freeway corolla accelerates kinda slow

ALSO, I think I have a broken motor mount. When I hold the breaks, and hit the gas, the engine seems to push "up-ward" and I was told that it's a broken motor mount. I was told it would cost me about 50 dollars for the part, but I have a mechanic friend who knows how to fix it. Wher can I get a part to fix a "broken motor mount?"

Thanks for the info and sorry for being such a dumb newbie.

From 1988-1992 they were AE92s, so yeah it's an AE92 (the A stands for the motor series which is a 4"AFE)

There's a master sticky thread with lots of Corolla information right at the top of the forum, read through some of the links on there, there's a Corolla history link which would've helped you identify your car's chassis code, and of course other links that might answer some of the questions you have.

here's the link to the Master sticky thread.

One thing I learned very quickly when dabbling in the motorsport hobby is that every modification you do to your car yields (subjectively) positive and negative results. So keep that in mind when getting into any kind of go-fast stuff.

More importantly though, there is a general rule to remember for aftermarket parts:
You can have it fast.
You can have it reliable.
You can have it cheap.
Pick 2 and live with it!

Depends on what motor mounts you want, performance or OEM. Each has its pros and cons.

As for cheap horsepower, I'm also looking for it. Let me know when you find it.

tangerine, easiest way to make performance motormounts is to fill the stock mounts with polyurethane.
