Ok well i have heard ( from not that reliable sources) that the silver top 4a-ge isnt good on boost...but i was thinking that it would be seeing how it has an extra intake valve...if anyone knows let me know...should i go turbo or ITBs
Considering the silvertop has ITB's to begin with, I dont see the point in "going itb's"
As for the extra intake valve, I dont see why that would be bad for boost. I'd say its not good for boost because of the high compression.
Actually both silver and blacktop 4AGEs have been successfully turboed before, the Silvertop is the usually the better choice out of the 2 since it's the stronger 20V.
Most people always say get a GZE and turbo that, reason being is because the GZE is already supercharged and strengthened for such duties, but all the other motors can also be turboed successfully.
ok well i didnt know that the silver top came with ITBs stock...ok well one of my friend who has the same car told me to keep the 4a-c or put a 3t-c in it(i cant remember which motor he said) is there anything that those motor is good for...he said they were good for boost but im not sure

word of advice, done listen to your friends, because they dont really know much if they suggest those.
Both of those engines are age old and finding parts for them isnt the easiest task, plus the 3T-C is for RWD layout, so good luck in finding a gearbox for it.
All engines can be made to handle boost... But read my first line, that'll get you far than listening to misinformation.
o no my name is from my old car... where i did a 3s-gte swap into a prizm...i was only pullin like 320 whp but it was great in the light weight prizm...my best run was a 10.2eta but that was because i couldnt catch traction...lol

I'm sceptical. 10.2et with 320hp... got any timeslips to prove that?
Because MR2's with 3S-GTEs run about 10.2 seconds with around 800hp, and thats with a RWD layout. Also some of the pro FWD drag racers run 10 seconds and have helluva lot more than 320whp, which isnt exactly mind boggling.

wow... 10.2 from 320whp claiming traction coulda have been better? something doesn't add up. i'd like to see this car...
