Australia Corolla 1984 Diff

Just after a bit of advice, I have a 1984 Corolla Stationwagon and need to replace the diff. I have had some people tell me a sedan diff will fit and some say it won't. Can someone please tell me for sure if I can replace my wagon diff with a sedan diff please? I understand I need to work out if my diff is a banjo or a salisbury, a salisbury has a tin piece on the back with bolts around it, is that correct? Please understand I really have no idea of what I am after and really need to be sure I get the right thing. Thanks

From what I see from the parts list and the repair manual from my 1983 wagon (for NA market). The differental it self will be the same (They will have either 2 pinion or 4 pinion (for 3tc engine or 4ac with manual transmission) ). But the housing will be different.

Btw off topic question is it still possible I can order oem parts from toyta dealer in australia? Since I'm looking for a tail light for my 1983 Corolla Wagon.

Thumbs up Re Toyota Diff

ea8631 thanks so much for your help - I have the diff I was looking for now so all is good.

Re your question about parts etc, I am not sure how you go about ordering them from here but here are a few websites you might find handy, they might be able to help you out.

Otherwise if you need to get something sent over, let me know and we can work something out.
