USA Air Condition Problem

Hi, I have a 99 Corolla and the air stinks...even when I put it to fresh air instead of recycle it smells like a mildewed wet dog! I have asked a few friends if there was a way to change the air filter and if this would help but they just seem to laugh at me and tell me there's no way to fix it! There's got to be a way! The first time of the day that I turn it on it won't smell too too bad, but the second or any other time, it's awful! I have to ride with the air on and the windows down. Please help, any suggestions appreciated!

If they have the filter you can get to it... you'll have to disassemble the glove box to get to it. We have replacement filters for them.
