speakers

I an putting in a new set of speakers in my car and took the door panel off but the speakers are what seems to be glued into a peice of plastic that is rivited in. I am trying to put my new speakers and in and i can not figured out a way for the stocks to stay togethor and just take them out, and still be able to put my new speakers in because the new ones are a screw type of speaker. This is in a 2003 toyota carolla.

Let me see if I understand your situation right.

The stock speakers are glued into place, and so you're trying to remove them without tearing them apart?

You're concerned that after you remove them, you'll have difficulty getting the after-market speakers into the brackets because those speakers are designed to be screwed in instead of glued in?

In my 01 corolla, My stock speakers were glued to the metal. I took it to best buy and helped them instal it. You break the glue, and screw the new speakers in.

The only problem with this, Is that we Have different generation rollas, so It might be different.

they are in a peice of plastic that is rivited in. I bought a indash kit from crutchfeild and they gave me some directions im am supposed to drill the rivits out then get an ada[ter plate from what i read on the directions... I wish i could just put them in i thought it was going to be a 5 mins job now i have to order some more crap. I guess i would get the adapter plates from ebay or somthing??? I know i have to go by the speaker size however am i supposed to get some with an ear or two so that i can drill through the sheet metal and bolt the plate down then the speaker?

thanks,

B
