headliner matierial?

Hey guys, i'm about to redo my headliner as it is starting to sag on the edges by the door. Hasn't been getting worst but I really would like to keep it up and change the color. I basically have all the tools and got me a 3m adhesive but anyone know any good place to source headliner material? As far as the material, can it be any cloth or does it have to be specifically headliner material? I guess it's specific because it has foam behind it? Thanks

I helped a friend do his 98 frontier and we used silver suede that he liked. I think any material you want to use is suitable. Just make sure you take you time with it and only spray what you can lay down smoothly with you hand. The insulation stuff does not matter IMHO because all it does is insulate a little against the sun barring down on the top of the car. We dynamated the sheet metal before doing the headliner so we kind of did well on the insulation part. It defiantly helps and you can barley hear the hard rain on the top of it. The cardboard looked just like it did with the insulation under it after we re-did it. All in all, just take you time and it should be fine.

No problem man glad I’m could help. I’m about to dynamate mine too. I have to rip all the interior out and completely wire the entire car for a concert with the 4400 watt amp and huge subs lol. The last car I had; I scared the clear coat off of it with my sound. I just got my new one about a week ago so I’m trying to customize it as much as possible. Tint and the alarm are next. Let me know if you ever need some help with any audio advice I’ am not a genius at it but I know a couple of things that might help you if need be.

I order a 100 sq foot of of ebay for 130 or so. That will cover my car. You do not have to cover every little bit of it but it helps, however thats just my opinion though. Its not cheap i know because being a college student and working full time does not let any money fall under not needed, thats why i use ebay for the good prices, however i think it is well worth it in the end. It improves the sound quality of your stero as well thats the main reason i use it lol.

Slightly cheaper alternative is Fatmat. Just as good as Dynamat imo. My buddy has won audio competitions and that's what he used.

$99 RETAIL for 100sqft.

The only thing to be careful of when buying sound deadner is to make sure it is not a HEAT and APPLY type this type could peal off during the summer when it gets hot. Some of the older dynamt and others used this method but some people still sell the old types.

sorry to keep looking like a post junkie but when your buying any kind of sound deadning materail look at how many mils thick it is, because the thicker it is the more sound it prevents from escaping.
