Endless refueling

I have a 99 Corolla VE, when I fuel it up the pump kicks out and then it takes a little at a time for a seemingly bottomless tank. I've never had the patience to keep going past $10 after it intialy kicked out. My dad had a 99 4Runner that did this as well. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know why it does this? Thanks.

if theres a vent tube in your gas tank it could be blocked causing the pressure that refueling causes and it builds up and just kicks the pump off..just a suggestion..prolly not right

I havn't had this with my corolla, but my '92 sentra was prone to it. There's nothing wrong with your car, it's just some pumps are shaped differently, pump faster, or you put them in at a different angle each time. Those shut-off sensors are uhm...sensitive. lol

Now, if it happens at every gas station and every fueling without exception, you might want to get a little more concerned.
