Help!!!

i just failed inspection with the code P0441
P0441 : Evaporative emission control system incorrect purge flow

would that be because of the intake i have on there or would it be something else? help me i only have 45 days cause the state or New Jersey sucks ass!

have to agree there. i am alos from dirty jersey and it blows. i have an expection sticker on my car thats like 4 months pass due just cause i don't feel like dealing with jersey inspection

year of the car would help out alot, but i'll assume its a 98+. evap codes are not uncommon and sometimes come and go on their own, but check that all the hoses are firmly attached and the gascap is on tight too.

yea it is a 98 i have holes in my exhaust too, i actually just ordered a new tsudo exhaust for it, do you think that could be the problem at all? or do you think the intake?

mine failed smog ,, a few weeks back, and the shop had it 1 full day ( a couple weeks back) and I have to take it back again for day #2 in a couple days. They can't figure out what the hell is going on.. I get extremely angry when I hear anyone form any country rag on the usa about poluttion, we have the stricktest smog BS laws in the F$## world! possibly universe! I am not saying anyone here has said anything, but the whole F%$# world has A-holes saying crap about the usa..

it depends on state actually, some states have VERY lax laws regarding emissions.. I'd say japan is most strict then some european countries. Our laws are only strict on new cars, if you car is pre 78 you dont even have to smog them.

As for pollution for cars, I'd say USA isnt the worst, china is getting to be number one, but still its a fly's shit in the ocean, compared to industrial pollution...

The emissions system may have a leak. When you installed the new manifold did you connect up all the vacuum hoses? Some areas to check are vacuum hoses, charcoal canister, VSV’s. Download the Gen_4 Diagnostics section at the link below. There is an excellent section on this code.
