AE92 Temperature and Fuel Gauge

Hello,

My girlfriend has a 1992 corolla 4 door but I can't remeber what the trim is. Anyway a while back her temperature gauge and fuel gauge quit working. Now they both go right to the top of their respective gauges. The only way she can tell when she needs fuel is when the light comes on or she's been watching her milage on the tripometer. When the car is turned off the needles both go back to the bottom of their gauges so they're not stuck as some might mention. I've read on this forum that the cluster may have to be replaced, I'd like to know if there is some tests I can perform to see before I go that route.

Also her cruise contro does not work anymore either. I'm going to check with her manual to fix it and see if there's a wire connection issue. Does anyone know of some common issues with the cruise control on these cars.

Thanks

Would this be a main grounding wire or part of the wireing harness to the cluster set?

if you pull down 1991 Corolla wiring diagram and pull figures 12 and 13 those are what i have for diagrams.

A nice fellow on this forum sent me the links. If you have an easier diagram to follow that would be cool! I'm no electrician so I'm not sure where to start.

BTW, all the fuses are okay. I pulled each one and inspected them. No problem there.
