So as the rust got worse on the fender flares I decided to finally take care of it, by painting the flares black. The strip on the back that goes around is because of a small spot of rust that was there in the back and where the rust from the flare extended to much
It isn't perfect and I will have to redo the edges but it's a start, for someone who can't paint very well I am rather happy with the turn out. The hood and headlight covers are going to be in the near future with the bottom half of the car around the same time
Basically I threw flat black over the area after I sanded it and cleaned it and then the gloss on top. Problem is I grabbed two cans at canadian tire and I guess someone threw enamel paint in with the rust stuff and the gloss is enamel on 3 of the 4 flares and then rust on the front passenger.
like I said, I need to get my hands on some red trim for the sides and then paint from just above them to the bottom back, along with the hood and headlight covers.
My taping job could use some work and I will need to fix it, but for someone who can't paint and has never taped to paint before, doing it on a curved piece went well for the tape I used

it might get painted eventually. In the market for another car to drive at the moment. Looking at an ae86 sr5. That'll give me something cheap to drive so I can pull the motor in the ae92 and redo it and make changes. Then do up the ae86 sr5 with a 4age and manual tranny.
