2001 corolla fuel filter

Is the 2001 fuel filter able to be changed, and if so, at what mileage interval should it be changed?

... is in the tank. For this gen you usually don't need to change it - ever.

I remember them being either in the engine room or under the car, all corollas have an intank strainer for the pump. But they also have another filter after the pump outside the tank.

We sell them, I can check what the filters look like. But they are a replaceable item.

Guys, I have the Haynes book too, and the 8th gen fuel filter really is in the tank, part of the fuel pump/sender/strainer assembly, and really is not a regular maintenance item like it is in the 7th gen. Those guys have this somewhere in the engine bay.

even an AE92 has a strainer in the fuel pump assembly, fact is that thats a very coarse filter, there should be a fine filter that needs to be replaced. No filter will last the life of the car if it has any filtration capabilities.

The real fact is - it's in the tank, and doesn't need servicing - ever. I too have the Haynes Manual. If you're still in doubt go to the Toyota Parts Counter to see if you can buy one that fits somewhere else.

The filter is Inside the tank, but it is changable if you really want to. There is an access pannel under the rear seat that you can remove the sending unit/fuel pump assembly from. You will then have to seperate the housing to access the filter.
part number 23300-0D010, Fuel Filter $33.81 list price.
Lots of manufacturers are going to in tank filters that most of the time can not be changed without replacing the whole fuel pump module.

I dont know where you get your facts, but thats a crock of shit. Lets see in 10 years how bad the corollas run without filter swaps.
