no point in using the pistions... as they are cut for 5 valves rather than just 4 like your motor

Whats the point really?

16v pistons wont work in a 20v. Also, you wont make power with rods. Blacktop rods are lighter I think.

20v pistons into a 16v is a good idea. nice high compression. (Head volume of a 20v is very similar to a 16v)

Problem is the gudgeon pin is smaller on the bluetop (18mm vs 20mm), can't run different rods on a bluetop crank either as the bearings are smaller also.

You can machine out the blutop rods to accept the 20mm gudgeon pin, but that's quite a bit of effort.

And also why is everyone so hung up on making the engine non-interference?
(to the point where you would machine a piston)

I've never seen a cambelt break before it was due for replacement.

Except the reliefs cut into the pistions for the valves are wrong.... Since one has 4 valves and the other had 5. So actually... bad idea

What's the big deal with having an interference engine?

You're talking as if it won't work, it works just fine. I know of 2 cars in our car club that have/do run 20v pistons in a 16v.

Do you relise that blacktops are interference from factory?

Theres nothing wrong with interference engines, infact theres alot of them in normal factory cars, opels, fords, volvos for example are interference and some have timing belts.

I know, I just can't understand the "avoid at all costs" attitude of some people on here have.

Only problem I see is that you cant use "big" cams with it, because theres a chance it will hit when the valve is open longer.

Yeah, but does anybody know how he can get the parts that he needs. He is in Istanbul, Turkey.

Melo. Try < http://www.toyz-unlimited.com/ > I don't know if they export, but they might be able to help you find your parts.

Good luck.
