The other day I was cruising ebay looking for an ES300 I could rape for some parts. I was wondering how tough would it be to swap the six cylinder motor out of an ES 300 and put it into my Corolla? Anyone try this before?
hmm... that's a lot of information right there. The only reasion I am considering it is because I was looking at projector style headlights and the Lexus headlights are at least 400 plus shipping. For a little more than that I can buy a "salvage" vehicle and rape it for the parts I want If it is going to be a huge headache for the swap then I am not going to cinsider it, but if it is simple and dtraight forward then I'll light up that green light and jump in
There isn't enough space under the hood to fit a V6 in, the transmission will probably hit the firewall considering it's size. But even if you do manage to do it somehow, there will be too much weight in the front end of the car, requiring you to upgrade the axles, bearings, brakes etc. Your weight distribution will be more uneven that it was before, and this will result in poor handling. Other factors considered as well, a pretty much pointless swap.
o..and dont use "rape" in a way like that...the word isnt meant to be used that way...
Would you rather use "cannibalize"?

An ES300 is pretty much a upscale Camry with more luxurious amenities. Built by Lexus. It's powered by the 1MZ-FE V6 engine. A V6 is pretty heavy and won't even fit into a Corolla without extensive modification and WILL upset the balance and handling characteristics of the car due to the additional weight it has.
the 1MZ is alloy, I can't see it weighing that much more that a 4a. Would be very similar to a 4agze powered car in terms of weight.
1MZ's are easily fitted to 3S powered cars, and since a 3S fits into a corolla pretty easy (space wise) I don't see a MZ needing any chopping or anything.
