Need buying advice on a 1999 Corolla VE

Hi, im looking to purchase a '99 corolla with 131K miles for a little under $4000. The owner says it has a new alternator. new brakes and rotors and 2 new tires. I was wondering at that kind of milage should I worry at all? He says it runs perfect but how long can these cars usually last for?

I need advice quick because I'm looking at the car tomorrow and I wanna know how much life is left on this car. Thanks.

If it's running well and eveything seems to be in good condition, it'll probably make 200k easily. A couple things you should look for is sludge under the oil cap, and if it's an automatic, pay attention to the trans fluid. So many people overlook this when buying a car, but if your seller is like the majority of car owners out there, then it's never been changed.

Also, I've heard the 98-02 engines have issues with burning oil, though not so much as the previous generation. Some will also ping for no good reason, so keep an ear out for this as well.
