All these should be in your owners manual. Hope you got one.

My 2001 corolla (1zz-fe) take 3.9 quarts of oil when you change your filter. I always change my filter, So i don't know how much it is without changing it.

As for the tranny fluid, You fill up until it shows its enough on the dipstick. this can take a while, so be carful. When I changed My tranny fluid(also changed the fliter), I think I put around 3.5 - 4 quarts in.

For the tranny, you put the fluid into where the dipstick is, so its hard to get a good reading if you don't let it sit for a while. just take your time.
(my tranny is a 3 speed with overdrive, if you have a different one, it will take a different amount)

I have a question, If I put in 4 quarts instead of 3.9, will that be ok? I can' imagine that a extra .1 quart of oil would hurt.

Nop, only Ford make cars that would be sensible to such little difference in the oil, lol.

If you call Auto Zone or Advance Auto they will give you the correct amount of oil to put in your tranny
