93 7A-FE ignition problem

Hi guys,

My first post, so be kind! I've got a 93 7A-FE corolla that will once in a while have the engine rpms bobble, followed by a stall. It is then really hard to get it started again (5-6 tries), but eventually it will start and run completely normally.

I've checked the following:

-battery terminal connections
-spark plug wires on snugly
-distributer cap seems intact and on securely
-no wires seem to be disconnected

This problem happens very rarely (maybe once every two months), so its not a huge deal, however I don't want to get stuck on a busy road where I can't pull over next time.

Any suggestions on things to check? Is it worth replacing the sitributer, spark plugs, just to rule those out?

Thanks!

How many KM's on the vehicle, when was the last time the plugs, wires, cap rotor were changed?

Did you pull the plugs are review condition?
Review cap inside look for burning or tracking, look where the plug wires plug in look for corrosion and review rotor for burning, also pull it off and see if it burnt through.

Does this happen when it's moist out, try looking under hood when it's dark see if there is any arcing.
