gas tank replacement on 85 GTS

Saturdya i am going ot replace my gas tank on my 85 GTS
I bought a new one from crappy tire along with new straps and new fuel filter

Anyhting i need ot know before i start unbolting?
I don;t have a manual, but i figure it should be easy enough right?

There's really not much in the manual for dropping it.

From my person experience, I'd just suggest being REAL gentle with it. The hard lines could possibly be problematic like mine were and just break into a pile of rust and then you'll be dealing with making new hard lines.

If you have trouble disconnecting the flex lines with the hard lines, cut them. And if you're going to remove the pump, you might have to deal with a new bracket as well.

Careful not to damage the sending unit, like EK-9 said, things get real britle under there and the slightes turn the wrong way could hang you out to dry... I might even consider replacing the sending unit while your there... never can tell when it's gonna stop working.

I believe crappy tire sell the pump for $330, the sending unit is probably another $300+ and the pump bracket and lines will probably run you another $200...

Gas is 7Lbs per gallon. Make sure the tank is near empty or she's gonna be heavy.
