USA intake possible or impossible

ok i have a 1989 toyota corolla 4dr le with the 4-AF motor and i was wondering if i could rig a intake to work or just forget about it and what other kinds of mods can i do i dont care if they give performance or not jus wanna make it look orginal and i know these motors u cant expect much out of mod performance wise....



your help will be appreciated

Everything I have read says that the problem is not so much the intake, but the carb. For now I would just make sure your air filter is clean. When I got my car the air filter was a dark grey color and I changed it and noticed a good bet of improvement, but maybe that was my imagination.

yeah, the carb is a HUGE problem.....and so is the stock filter cover. The big black part on top of the filter is wayyyy too restrictive for my corolla...I have the exact same one you have.....Now, im not 100% sure bout if its a problem or not, but when i have that cover on, my engine sputters but when i have it off, it runs perfectly. So, theres a LOT or restriction under the hood.

Neither are a problem really. The filter area is actually quite high, therefor its not as big of a restriction as you'd think.

Theres something else wrong with your engine.

As for mods, well it really depend on your skill, but for looks alone I'd forget about it.

i was just wandering because my dad wont let me get a new car till i graduate which sucks but hes lettin me do whatever to this one i kinda wanna make it tuner so far it has a good sound system in it and i might get a tuner exhaust idk any ideas i can get to make it better or perform better will be appreciated and do k and n filters really make that much of a difference
