Do you think it is possible to just buy the american corolla, and simply swap some of the front end parts to make it look like the japan version? I don't think it would be that expense unless the rear is diffrent. I have never seen the rear of the japan model.
Cosmetically yes. Lots of people put JDM (japanese domestic market) equivalent parts on their USDM vehicles for a different look. Price depends on how rare the part is, some JDM parts can be very pricey to buy in the US.

good luck i have tried to get one i havn't been able to find one in north america period, if you had a connection to someone in malasia, or somewhere in europe you could probably get one.
the other option would be to have one made and i think this would be easier and cheaper. at one point in time i was going to try and make one and duplicate it a few times but honestly i don't think i have the drive to do so..

didnt say it was , corolla is not corolla in japan . you got trueno , levin , runx , sprinter and caldina. that is a us corolla in pic one (mine) with a jdm front grill and headlights ,w/ toms lip . the 2nd pic is a european fx-gt e10 hatchback corolla . the third pic is a malaysian "sprinter" . also this garnish is avail in some parts of europe.

the corolla is the corolla in japan, those other names are just trims and models. theres corollas in japan that are called corollas.
