97 Corolla help needed!?!?!?!

So i just bought a 97 corolla with a blown engine for 61 dollars. I want to get the highest producing hp motor that will also be somewhat easy to mod later after college. Along with that i would prefer that its a direct swap to the tranny in there now. I am looking at a 4 age motor. Can anyone help.

If you want a direct swap, you're stuck with the A series motor. 4AGE isn't a bad choice if you need it up asap. If you're willing to build and want to stick with N/A, go to the pick and pull and build a 7AGE for a little more fun. It consists of a 4AGE head and a 7AFE block.

4agze, been done, lots of literature and a VERY modifiable engine that can & will produce ALOT of hp & torque
