100 amp fuse blows

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but have had a Corolla for ten years. I've developed a problem and was wondering if anyone else has run in to this. The car is a 97 and the 100 amp fuse to the alternator blew. The alternator was replaced as well as the fuse. One month later, after hitting a bump, the same thing happened. I replaced the fuse and checked the alternator, which was good. I suspect an intermittent short due to either a loose wire hitting a ground or a frayed wire doing the same thing. If anyone has had this problem I'd appreciate any help you could give. Thanks.
Rob

probably you're right about the wire, time to check for loose connections.

i would check your wiring and connections going to the alt and leaving the alt. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere around there.

Check the wire between alternator B+ (large wire) and battery for problems.

I have the exact same problem about blowing the 100 amp fuse relay but don't think it's alternator related gotta be a bad ground on positive or negative cable. Question do you get any spark when you attach the positive battery cable to the battery terminl post?
