the difference between 99 and 00 stock intake system
ok i tried to get a cheap intake tube system with a cone filter, this just my DD. My project vehicle is a 92 jeep cherokee but anywhos i was tryin to get a cheap intake from advanced autoparts and they didnt have anything on the intake system book it went from 1997 and skipped up to 2000 corrolla. and they guy didnt know why so whats the difference between a 99 intake system from intake manifold back compared to an 00??? any help is thancks, i dont kow alot about these cars, but i do all my own work any help THANXS
The difference could be sensor attachment. With the VVT-i addition in 2000 also came the change from MAP to MAF sensor. There is no other physical layout difference that I can see between 98/99 and 00.
buurin, you might know this. My 2001 seems to have a defferent front buymber than a 98 - 2000. Is anything else different? Its not part of a body kit is it?

Corolla got a facelift in 2001. Among the changes are new bumper (yes), 9005/9006 2-bulb headlights, slightly bigger front corners, circle back-up lights in the end (which can easily be mounted on a 98-00 ), rearview mirror attached to windshield instead of roof (which I don't like) and a number of other things in the interior. The S model did have a body kit but is limited to a spoiler and side skirts; others don't.
I have the new bumper, the lights, I have the spot for foglights, but I don't have them.
I also do not have the circle tail lights or have seen My gen with circle tail lights. Would you happen to have a picture of them? I would think about istalling them depending on how they look
so what would be difference be between a 97 and a 99? thancks for the help so far
The Corollas are pretty much the same from 93-97 then from 98-99 it's a different model with a different motor, 99-02 is also pretty much a different model, similar to the 98-99 but like everyone said, VVTi was added and a front and rear facelift.
ok well i got it done it was just a hose or some sort of pcv valve system or sumthin, just for emissions basically so then the sensor was a IAT sensor an intake air temp, took out top of air box and took rubber hose from TB and took a insert and got the pieces and a cone air filter definetly got results u can hear the car growl alotttttt morreeeee because of the intake being able to be heard better and its got alot more top grunt, but my buddy raced the corrola and i raced my jeep and my jeep still pulled extremely hard on the corrolla till 50mph and was about 2 cars ahead after 50 the corrola was even and maybe pulled up a lil but not much still made a big dif, i get pics when i can
