I dont think that there is a difference. at long as the engine is a 1.8 L 1zzfe, the intake would be the same.

report back what gains you get from your intake.

The difference could be sensor attachment. With the VVT-i addition in 2000 also came the change from MAP to MAF sensor. There is no other physical layout difference that I can see between 98/99 and 00.

Unless its a different generation or different engine, it should be the same exact intake except for the sensors like buurin said.

That's gen 7 vs. gen 8 so it will be very different.

buurin, you might know this. My 2001 seems to have a defferent front buymber than a 98 - 2000. Is anything else different? Its not part of a body kit is it?

Corolla got a facelift in 2001. Among the changes are new bumper (yes), 9005/9006 2-bulb headlights, slightly bigger front corners, circle back-up lights in the end (which can easily be mounted on a 98-00 ), rearview mirror attached to windshield instead of roof (which I don't like) and a number of other things in the interior. The S model did have a body kit but is limited to a spoiler and side skirts; others don't.

I have the new bumper, the lights, I have the spot for foglights, but I don't have them.

I also do not have the circle tail lights or have seen My gen with circle tail lights. Would you happen to have a picture of them? I would think about istalling them depending on how they look

The Corollas are pretty much the same from 93-97 then from 98-99 it's a different model with a different motor, 99-02 is also pretty much a different model, similar to the 98-99 but like everyone said, VVTi was added and a front and rear facelift.

Yes, aside from sound.. the most you're getting out of that intake is 1-2hp. The intake won't make your car a sports car.

iirc the 8th gen shares alot body mechanical wise with the 7th, such as suspension parts, and the same general unibody.
