USA Dash-friendly CD players for 93-97 Corolla?

Greetings everyone,

I'm new to the forum and am amazed by the amount of enthusiasm and information around here.
I own a 94 Corolla DX and I still have the standard AM/FM cassette player. I am hesitant of a new CD player because of the fact that in a lot cars it just doesn't look right since the custom radio "sticks out" from the panel frame too much.

So any recommended radio models for this kind of car?

Thanks a lot,
Adolfo Morales - Phila PA

I use clarion. My deck in my 97 only sticks out about 1/4 of an inch, which isn't too bad

I think Nakamichis are the best for looking stock and sounding good. But price may be a turn off.

It depends really, any deck can blend in as long as you install it properly. I rather have the sound quality than the OEM look either way.

+1

Just make sure you research and try them out on some in-store soundboards and see what you like

You can go on eBay and get a Toyota 3 in 1 unit and put it in your car. It'll look OEM and won't stick out.

Some newer units will not fit though because the face on some radios are car specific and no longer double din sized.

You also need to make sure the one you get has the same connections as your car. Some radios don't have internal amps.

visit www.crutchfield.com or even go to betbuy and visit the audio section and they will list what will go in the car.
