Incorrect, follow where the intake duct begins and end.

There are cold air intakes that look like intercoolers. Saw one on a Civic and a web site selling those before.

An interfooler would go GREAT with the electronic-sound-making BOVs, an electric supercharger, and the muffler with the turbo noisemaker spinner!

I think the the OP means is that the air intake for his car is far away from the engine, and seems to suck air that would be cold.

In my 01 corolla, I have thought about getting a cold ait intake, but From where the air enters the intake, I don't think that it would have much of a difference.

(Does anybody make a cold air intake for this gen?)

Technically, every cars intake is routed to the front of the car to suck in outside air that hasnt been exposed to engine heat yet. Thats why i never understood the point of taking all that off and puting on a cone filter that sits right in the engine compartment under the hood where the most heat is generated.

With a CAI or SRI, the intake path is shorter, bypassing the various resonance-dampening boxes and typically of a less-restrictive pipe diameter (fixed piping instead of pleated hose). Additionally, there's usually a larger amount of filter element exposed to the airstream with an aftermarket intake.

The stock air intake isnt really restrictive, thats just what the magazines say.
Thing is, that its not like water flowing in a pipe with pressure, its air that basically is there all the time, its just sucked in due to vacuum the piston going down makes. When you really start to add power to the car, then you can call it restrictive, otherwise its not.
But what do I know, I just dont believe every import magazine that gives ridiculous claims.

For example, the stock intake system on a VW Golf Mark IV GTI is good to atleast 350hp.
