okay, by this time, u guys kno my corolla model doesnt come with rear speakers. what my plan is, to install rear speakers in my car. the stuff i already know are that the maximum speaker size u could install is a 6 1/2" speaker. thats all i kno. sooo, i need u guys to guide me or give me tips on how to install speakers in my car(dad's car), without breaking anything else that i touch.
Do you have the speaker grills? if so, check to see if you have the factory wiring for them, If you do, they it should be easy to install.
To check, Fold down the rear seats, then using a flat head screw driver, undo the plastic retaining clips that hold down the carpeted section under your rear window. Then there should be holes where the speakers should go.
i think it doesnt fold, cuz my corolla's model is a basic model, it didnt really come with anything, and isee no key hole on the rear deck to make the seat fold, and the seat is like fastned to the body of the car, i dont kno, i might try again ,or go ask somebody for help
about the rear seats folding. On the basic models they don't have that option. I myself have a 97 CE. My brother has a 95 that DOES have the levers and the fold down. When I replaced the struts on my car the seatback bolted down to the body using 12mm bolts.
(I just repeated what Crowbar said)
About the speaker install it really is just what Crowbar said you would have to do. Sometimes the speakers come with cutout templates for those who are custom mounting their speakers, but it should be pretty simple. Esp if your just using full range vs. component speakers.
