Cabintoo Air Filter in 02 Corolla LE? - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Does my car have a cabin air filter, and if so where is it located? The jury seemed to be kind of split on this -- whether the 02 or 03's are the first year to have one or not. I took out the glove compartment but did not immediately see where it would fit.

There is no in cabin air filter on the 02. The 8th gen is the 98-02 gen. 03+ is the 9th gen. 03+ has in cabin air filters while 8th gens dont. There are some discrepencies with the years because the matrix is essientially a 9th gen corolla and that was released in 02 so vendors that sell parts and dont know any better think that the 02 corolla is the same as the matrix even though they are completley different.
