install of rear component speakers into 97 corolla?

I'm just wondering if anyone on here has ever had to install a component speaker system into the rear of their corolla around or near my year/model. I thought I would have enough room behind the pillar trim panels to mount the tweaters there but after removing the panel I found I don't have as much space up nearer to the seat belt hole as I thought I would. There may be enough room down closer to the rear window but I'm wondering if anyone else dealt with this installation before and put them elsewhere like the rear deck panel or something.

cheers!

Are there enough room in the rear pillars to mount the tweeters?

if I surface mounted them I could probly put them anywhere I wanted to on the pillar but I wanted the smooth sleek look and flush mount. I need about 7/8" minimum for enough space between the panel and the pillar. It's probably doable but before I cut my 2" hole I'd like to know in advance if it's been done, ya know?
