fuel gauge suddenly died
Hello,
I have a 1996 Corolla. I had the car stored outside, battery disconnected, for 9 months. before leaving I topped off the tank and added a fuel stabilizer. I got the battery jumped to get the car started. After letting the car idle for a few minutes, I put it in gear and moved forward. As soon as the car moved, the fuel needle slowly dropped to reading below empty, where it now stays. All the other gauges and warning lights work fine. I haven't found any bad fuses (I assume most of the gauges are on the same fuse anyway . . .?), and looking under the car in the area of the fuel tank, I haven't noticed any loose wires or connections.
Bad fuel sending unit? Where is it located on the fuel tank? Any info or advice is appreciated.
Thanks
