USA Corolla 97

Hi Everone!
I have a startig problem on my corolla 97.
All the indicating light come on and make a clik, but the engine wouldn't start.
I tried to push the accelerator and turn the key on and it starts fine.
I want to know,where is the problem.

did this just happened once? a little more information would be nice, without actually looking at your car people cannot really make a good guess as to what the problem is.

THis is happening for last three days, about five times. Sometimes it make a clik and the 2nd or third time starts the engine. Sometime I need to push the accelerator alittle bit, and will start the engine. The battery terminals were already clean, but I oppened and cleaned them again. I don't know any further. Thanks
