Windshield Chip

while trying to change the rearview mirror i got a tiny chip on the inside of the windshield

i heard that there is a compound or something that you can rub on it?

not too sure about the side mirror but if the chip is smaller than a quarter you can buy this stuff i think its called liquid glass it will fill it in, im not sure how well it works but i heard it does the job, sorry i dont have anymore info for ya

Not gonna work. The front glass is a structural component, its glued to the frame, that means when the body flexes it gets flexed too. Hence that chip will soon be a crack... and then its time to replace the glass.

Permatex makes a chip repair kit. It injects acrylic liquid and then you park the vehicle in the sun to cure and harden the plastic. The kit costs around $10 an any auto parts store. If you plan to repair it, do it sooner rather than later. Once that chip starts streading, you're looking at a whole new windshield. This kit will prevent the chip from turning into a crack.

No it wont stop the cracking... read what I posted

Only way to stop a chip from cracking is drilling it first so that theres no sharp edges on it, then fill it. Just filling it wont do shit.
