Air Filter

My dad hasnt changed the air filter in my 01 corolla le for a while and i wantt o change it. Any one got suggestions on which one to buy for low cost? like 40 or less, the cheaper the better lol. I have this K&N in mind but wondering if there are any out there better, i like this one because it is reusable so yea

i just use the paper ones, i dunno i could be waaaaay off but I dont care but I think the paper ones provide better filtration so I stick to them... they are like 10 bucks a pop

Wix, Fram, AC Delco, etc all make decent low cost paper air filters. Check the one in the car first to see if it really needs changing.

kn filters make your engine sound a little throatier, and of course they are reusable. it might be a good investment

I have the K&N drop in filter. The only time it makes the car sound different is when you floor it.

It also seemed to give me better throttle response.

Plus, its reuasable. can't go wrong with that.

Stick with OEM type or fiberous/paper reusable types. Stay away from K&N and such because they don't really improve airflow over OEM, but have inferior filtration properties. Serviceable filters will save money in the long term, but might not work as well as single use types.

I'm using a FRAM with excellent results, getting above EPA estimates for mileage.
