Quarter Mile times.....

c mon guys, gotta admit, it's been a long time since we've seen one of these threads. I've been here for a few years, and even I, the great rice hardly remembers the last time we had one of these threads. It's the summer of 2007 where all the drag strips are open for your racing pleasures, where does everyone stand? I'm going to the local drag strip this month, hoping to see low 16s with my 7afe 5-spd.

I did a spur of the moment drag race in my corolla. A buddy rang up and said want to go to the drag strip, and I just stopped what I was doing (working on my GTI) and went in the corolla.

So horrible generic brand tires @ normal tire pressure that can't grip for anything, full weight + trunk and back seats full of stuff, and a worn clutch that couldn't handle a drop higher than 3000rpm without slipping.

So with my massive limitations, I did 2.5 60' and crossed the line at 16.6 @ 86mph.

If I prepped it properly with a good clutch, I'm sure I could have done low 16s. Going to do a new engine in the not too distant future and will aim for mid-high 15s with it.
