Question anyone know about this engine(N1ZZ-K85N)

I just recently bought a 99 corolla. I wanted to find some information about the engine in it so i went on the internet and every site that i went to said that the engine in my car does not exist. although i found one guy who said he had the same thing put into his celica and he believed that it was the japanese version of the engine.

thanks

sounds like what the sticker on a timing cover would say.

It's a 1ZZFE engine...standard motor. Comes in Corolla, Matrix, and Celica

1ZZFE, 1.8L 16Valve without the VVTi I believe, google that name up and anything you're looking for should show up.

i believe US market 1zz has always been VVT-i . I don't think the non vvti 1zz could have properly replaced the 4/7 afe

Heh VVTi didn't come to US-spec 1ZZ until 2000. 1ZZ debuts with 120hp even without VVTi, enough to beat even 7A.
