AE92 Minor front-end accident. Hood won't latch shut, won't open either.

I have an AE92 FWD and I just got into a minor bumper slam at a stop light. I tweaked his bumper, and his car tweaked my hood just so that I can't open it anymore. However, it is stuck open, and the interior hood latch handle flaps freely. The under-hood release handle won't pop it open, and I can't push the hood down any more to get it to lock shut again.

Is there any other way I can get the hood open from the underside of the car? Any place I should pry with a crowbar?

Advice appreciated. Thanks.

you should be able to go up behind the grille/bumper cover from underneath the car and you will see where the release cable attaches to the latch; then by whatever means you can find, you can release the catch

err if it's poped up and not comming off it sounds like the hook that you release on the front AFTER you pop it from the inside.
