spark plug wire boot problem

hi all,
I have a 98 Corolla. Great car. Changing the plug wires this time ( I've done it several times with no issues) I had the insulator piece stay in the well when I pulled the wire out. I didnt even realize it until I was trying to get the plug socket in the well to seat, and it wouldnt....upon inspection w/ a light ,I could see the insulator, or whatever it is, down there.

Luckily, I was able to push the wire back down and get it seated again, but I'm stymied, and still need to change the wires.

Anybody seen this?

it happens, lol. You can try using a thread tapper to pull it out. thread it into the middle of the insulator and pull.

Next time, make sure you use that electro-conductive grease, and make sure you twist the boots before pulling em out.
