USA 97 corolla air bag deactivation

Hey all. first post here. I am a Ford Master technician (I know, Booooo!). my problem is this. My father recently had open heart surgery. his doctor will not let him drive his car due to the possibility of his air bag deploying and damaging his sternum/chest. all he wants to be able to do is go to doctors appt's and go grocery shopping. i have no manuals for his car. since you guys are the corolla experts, can anyone tell me if there is a dedicated fuse for the air bag system with no other circuits on this fuse? if not i will just unplug the control module. where is the control module for the air bags? once his chest is healed i will reactivate the air bag system. any help would be appreciated.

Or if you can stand the airbag warning light, just unplug the airbag from the steering wheel.

Yea, just open the case behind the steering wheel, and under it you should see 2 big white wire covers connected to a big yellow thing with a million clamps on it. The first time I did it, I got so mad I ripped it off and broke all the clamps.
