2003 corolla map lights

i was wondering if anyone knows how to change the bulb in the rearview mirror map lights.
i got the cap off but i dont kno how to take out the bulb without braking it. any suggestions?

I used a pair of plyers wrapped in soft cloth. You can break it off since you are replacing them and they are cheap replacements.

That is the only way to get it out, its on there pretty tightly. Last resort would be to break them and take them out that way.

Took me less than 30 seconds. Just use a thin screwdriver to pry open the cover. There should be a thin and narrow slot where you insert the philips head. After that use something soft to cover the plyers so you don't break the bulbs. You can break them but it will be a mess.

i just have a big problem getting grip on the bulb with the plyers... its taking forever

Yea it took me a while, might as well just break them and pull them out from the internals. Just make sure the glass doesn't fall everywhere. The bulbs are cheap so it wouldn't be of much concern for getting new ones or replacing them.
