I have an interesting problem with my 94 Corolla. 1.8L Auto w/ 170,000 miles.
Whenever I turn right, a semi-high pitched rubbing noise comes from the right front tire. It usually happens when the steering wheel is turned 90 degrees or more, and only at speeds 8-10MPH and under.
Now, the car does not even slightly pull to one side while driving, nor does it when braking. I cannot feel anything wierd through the brake pedal when the noise is happening, but can feel a slight vibration through the steering wheel. Strangely, there is no noise when the wheel is turned to the right and I am in reverse. It also seems to get worse after the car is driven a while and whatever is making the noise heats up.
Last weekend, my Dad and I removed the tire, which has no unusual wear marks on it, and inspected the wheel bearing and the brake. Both were in perfect condition. The boot on the CV joint also looked perfect.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?

are you on stock wheels/tires? i rubbed when i had 205/40/17s lowered about inch and a half and only when i turned the steering wheel to the extreme left.
The wheels are stock with stock size tires on the steelies. I just dont have the money for anything nicer.
I was out earlier, and went over some small elevation changes in a concrete parking lot with the window down. The front end of the car made some noises going over the bumps...i don't really know how to describe them other than a creak that just didn't sound right. This leads me to believe this might be something wrong with my suspension. The struts pass the bounce test, but i know there are many other components.
Could this possibly be something wearing out with my suspension? I am starting to hear the noise when turning left as well.
