Hi, I am brand new here and would appreciate your help. I have an 2003 Corolla LE with 69,000 miles. I have noticed the following problems:
1. Most notable when driving over those little speed bumps in the road (informing you there is a stop sign ahead) there is a loose rattle coming from the right front corner. The left I do not hear it.
2. When driving at highway speeds, an odd sort of rubbing/increased road noise is apparently coming from the right side. Its not very loud but if you turn the wheel back and forth or taking a long right turn the noise gets louder. This doesn't happen on left turns if fact the noise almost completely goes away.
After reading several articles here I am thinking the right strut has gone bad. The noise gets louder when the right front is supporting more weight (in right turns) and the metallic clackity noise going over speed bumps or the grooves placed on the side of expressways.
Does anyone have any ideas? I don't think its normal to have only one strut go bad is it? I also would think they would last longer that 69K miles (mainly highway miles)
Thanks everyone for your help!!!
