Question Sorry if this is a noob question...

Hi, fellow Toyowners, as you can see from my screen name, I just got a '94 Corolla DX 5-speed yesterday, and as I was looking through the manual, I saw that the 7A-FE requires 1.2 quarts of oil. Is that true? From my experiences with other cars, that is extremely low. I've never owned a Toyota before, so I was wondering if you guys could help me out.

I don't have a 7afe, but I would say put the oil in next oil change, check the dipstick. If the dipstick shows it's full then thats the right ammount of oil, but remember after you start it you will have to add some since the oil filter takes some.

That can't be right, I have a 4A-GE which is same A series block and should have about same oil requirement. Takes about 4 quarts at oil xhange. That's either a misprint, or they're talking about something else, like maybe the difference if you change the oil filter or not, although that seems high? Or maybe the difference between the high & low mark on dipstick?
